"Hi Kym,
Having worked with several members of your team across a few clients, it has been amazing to see the progress and the positive outcomes our clients are experiencing.
The connection and person centered approach between yourself and the team is so great to see, and I love seeing my clients form trusting relationships with you all.
I always know that when working with KISS, the client is in safe hands, and the team CARES about their role. I know that they can manage some of the more challenging days and that I can trust them to provide me with the feedback and information I need to do my side of the support. I just want to thank you and the team for always showing me what great support work looks like! I love working with you and your team 😊 "

Our approach is person-led, meaning our Participants are at the centre of the services and are involved in making decisions about their life. We support the Participant to lead their care and treatment as a person first. Our support is focused on achieving the Participants goals and is tailored to their requirements and unique situation.
Person centered care
Working in the Disability Sector, it's our opportunity to permanently change people's lives and create memories that last a lifetime.
Living an aligned lifestyle with individualised needs, wants, and desires promotes self-determination and can mean going the extra mile, being creative, and ensuring to profile the person and know them well before they enter the service.
See the person, hear the person, and form a trusting relationship. We are all different. We all have individualised needs and visions for our lives. Seeing, hearing and building long term relationships is essential to our success.
Changing people’s lives
"I can teach you everything, but passion and your own passion will teach you more than I can."
Steven Bartlett
Passion is a quality in employees that demonstrates genuine volition to provide exceptional service.
Credentials and skills are fundamental. However, an employee genuinely invested in their passion for this field naturally drives exceptional service provision.
Learning and developing knowledge and skills can be taught, but passion drives genuine service delivery.
Kindred Instinct Support Services is exceptionally passionate about what is delivered.
We are in service, not "just providing a service."
Passion cannot be taught in the field of disability
Active Person Centred Support
Kindred Instinct Support Services (KISS) staff use Person Centred Active Support. All KISS staff are skilled in this approach.
When Active Person Centred Support is consistently used during services for Participants with a disability, enhanced quality of life is more readily accessible.
Active Person Centred Support is a different way of thinking and delivering supports and services. Do with, not for, model - not take over, expand on skills Participants already have to support the progression of their goals.
Encouraging independent steps in every part of the process.
Active Person Centred Support encourages participants to exercise complete choice and control and engage in meaningful and fulfilling activities and social relationships. Not just in the Participant’s home but in their local and broader community. Naturally, self-determination is built when every activity has the Participants’ input.
Life is for living. Active Person Centred Support promotes and encourages this every step of the way.

Trauma-informed practice and psychosocial disability supports
Kindred Instinct Support Services employees are highly skilled and trained in the science of neurology. Including how the brain copes when impacted by trauma and psychosocial disabilities. We believe this understanding is essential to caring for individuals with an invisible disability and can often be a dual diagnosis.
An integral aspect of our service delivery is our proficient depth of knowledge and awareness of how trauma and psychosocial disabilities need to be approached and supported.
All employees are equipped to identify signs and symptoms of invisible disabilities and what the world looks like as a person with trauma and invisible disabilities.
Effective and proficient responses positively impact how participants respond and feel supported. Therefore, trauma-informed responses are imperative to our service delivery as they prevent re-traumatisation or triggering of harmful impacts on participants with psychosocial disabilities.
Our employees are specialists in:
Identifying what trauma is
What psychosocial disabilities are
How the individual is impacted by trauma and psychosocial disabilities
Conflict resolution
De-escalation skills
how to best support someone in a crisis
How to support individual participants' needs in the best way possible.
